Step 1: The Initial Consultation
Your Invisalign® journey begins with a consultation at Bespoke Dental Lounge. During this appointment, Dr. Akhil Patel will assess your smile and discuss your desired outcome. Using advanced 3D imaging technology, we’ll create a detailed map of your teeth and design a personalised treatment plan tailored to your smile and desired results.
This is also the time to discuss the Invisalign® cost and get an estimate based on the complexity of your case. If you’re ready to proceed, your digital scans are sent to Invisalign®’s lab to create your custom aligners.
Step 2: Custom Aligners Designed for You
Once your custom Invisalign® aligners are ready, our team will get you booked in and it’s time to start your journey to a new straight smile. These clear aligners are crafted to fit your teeth perfectly using your digital scans, ensuring optimal comfort and effectiveness. Each aligner is designed to apply gentle pressure to specific teeth which over time will gradually move them into the desired position.
At this stage, Dr. Akhil Patel will fit your first step of aligners and add attachments if needed to ensure they fit perfectly and are comfortable. We will explain and demonstrate how to change and care for your aligners at home.
Step 3: Wearing Your Aligners
To keep your teeth moving regularly, you will be required to change your aligners at home every 1-2 weeks. To ensure reduced discomfort, we highly recommend you change your new set of aligners before bed. Invisalign® aligners removable, so you can continue enjoying your favourite foods and maintain your oral hygiene routine without any interruptions. We just recommend you rinse your aligners after eating any food and remove them if drinking any staining liquids like coffee, tea and red wine.
To get the best results and to make sure you don’t delay any process, we recommend wearing your aligners for 20-22 hours a day.
Step 4: Monitoring Your Progress
Although you can change your set of aligners from home, it’s still important to attend regular follow-up appointments with your dentist to make sure you’re on track with your Invisalign progress. These appointments allow us to monitor your progress, address any concerns, and make adjustments to your treatment plan if needed. If you are not at the desired stage, you may have to wear your current aligners for longer or new aligners may be required.
At this stage, your Invisalign® treatment may require interproximal reduction (IPR), which is where we will gently shave in between your teeth to create space for your teeth to move into.
Step 5: Completing Your Invisalign® Journey
When your teeth have moved into your desired position, we will remove any attachments and ensure your bite and teeth are in the correct position.
Once your treatment is complete, you’ll graduate to wearing a retainer every night to maintain your newly straightened teeth. Retainers are crucial to ensure your teeth stay in their new positions long-term.
